after 2 weeks of waking up before 8am and workwear, i've gotten pretty accustomed to work. Mundane, routine, the most appropriate words i can use to describe my days so far. Feeling slightly cheated that i've been making calls for 8 out of 11 days i've been at Cisco when im supposed to be doing admin work. haha.. but the pay is alright, the people are quite nice and so im forcing myself to stay. Also, i've been offered an option to claim transport fees. i submitted a $20 ezlink card top up receipt. well, better than nothing la. haha

i always dread lunch coz its still kinda awkward with new people, especially since most of them actually have some sort of generation gap with me. Vincent's the only other temp there so im largely reliant on him for some connection to "our world". another temp's coming in on monday to do data entry(what im actually supposed to do) with the same pay as me :( her name's Valerie, and i shuddered when i heard that name. hahaha.. heng ah, shes our age (TWENTY ONLY) so cant be that valerie. lol.. shes employed directly through Cisco so im still more expensive to employ($2/hr to agency). BUT. my pay is still the meagre $7 while Vincent gets $8.50. and he'll probably be getting a raise to $9. SIAN. we're doing the same job! If Colin didnt offer to cheat the agent with me in the first place i probably wouldnt have had my hopes raised about getting higher pay. the difference is a whopping $300+!!!!! damn.

I remember how my boss made everything sound so interesting and meaningful on my first day. that what we were doing was gonna allow us to learn a lot and would even help build up our resume. now im thinking, telemarketing helps? haha not exactly that.. i do learn some things, when i speak to people from different countries and some of them go "ta ta-u" haha but its super boring. we count down to our knock off time by the minute! hopefully when we get enough respondents we can start doing the data entry and analysis. but for the coming week we're still gonna be calling. OMG super boring. i should top up my ezlink card with $100 man. HAHA

thats all there is about work. haha the rest of the stuff's confidential, although i would really like to share some of the dumb things people say to me on the phone. haha..
