man hands on misery to man
They fuck you up, your mum and dad.
They may not mean to, but they do.
They fill you with the faults they had.
And add some extra, just for you,
But they were fucked up in their turn,
by fools in old-style hats and coats,
Who half the time were soppy-stern,
and half at one another's throats.
Man hands on misery to man,
it deepens like the coastal shelf.
Get out as early as you can,
and dont have any kids yourself.
- Philip Larkin
this is by no means an attempt by me to discredit my parents for bringing me up or to scold anyone's parents but i found it rather amusing. quite true too. haha.. and dont be skeptical(i was. ok i dont really read alright. haha) and think that this person's trash. i wiki-ed philip larkin and hes supposed to be a well known poet in the latter half of the 20th century. haha
its a vicious cycle hah
